# Mobile Crane Service in Fort Mohave

> Fort Mohave is 53 road miles north of our Lake Havasu City yard along the river route. The terrain is flat, the subdivisions are wide and the ground is mostly firm, so setups are simpler here than on the Havasu hillsides. Work is dominated by manufactured and modular housing, HVAC changeouts and equipment placement.

**TLDR:** Fort Mohave is 53 road miles north up the river. Flat ground and wide streets make setups easy. Most of the work is housing and HVAC. Book a day and it runs clean.

## Flat Ground Makes This Easy

Fort Mohave sits on a flat terrace above the river. That is a real advantage for crane work. There is no cut pad, no retaining wall, no working uphill from the street. In most of the newer subdivisions we can put the truck where we want it, level up on flat ground and pick with a clean radius.

The newer areas also went in with underground utilities, which takes the overhead service drop out of the equation. That one difference makes a Fort Mohave HVAC changeout noticeably simpler than the same job on an older street somewhere else in the county.

## Housing Work Is the Bulk of It

Manufactured and modular housing is a big part of what is here, mixed in with newer stick built subdivisions. That gives us two kinds of work side by side. Sections get set on new placements, and older units get roof mounted equipment changed, carports built, awnings replaced and frames repaired.

The stick built side brings trusses, beams and roof mounted package units. New construction is easier when we come before the block wall goes up, so if you are building, call while the lot is still open. Once the walls are in, the same set becomes an over the wall lift.

- Manufactured and modular section setting
- Roof mounted and package HVAC changeouts
- Roof trusses and structural beams on new builds
- Spas, sheds and backyard equipment over walls
- Carports, patio covers and awning steel
- Generator and mechanical equipment placement

## Sand, Pads and the Unpaved Edges

Away from the paved subdivisions there are plenty of graded lots and dirt approaches out here, and the surface is blow sand more often than it is hard caliche. Sand does not carry an outrigger the way a hard layer does. We come with pads sized for the worst surface described to us, and if nobody describes it we assume the worst.

It matters most on new placements and on lots that have not been built on yet. A photo of the approach and the pad area, taken from where a truck would come in, saves everyone a wasted trip.

## Our Process

1. **Describe the site surface.** Paved, graded, sand or virgin desert. This is the single most useful thing you can tell us about a Fort Mohave job, because it decides the pads and sometimes the truck.
2. **Confirm weight and landing point.** Section weight, unit weight or member weight, and exactly where it comes to rest. On new placements we want the pier or pad layout too.
3. **Pick the day.** 53 miles is a comfortable second tier run, but it is still a booked day. We set a window and tell you honestly whether same day is realistic that week.
4. **Set it and finish it.** The load lands and gets released to your crew. Pads come up and we clear the street.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### How far is Fort Mohave from Lake Havasu City?

53 road miles by the river route north. It is a second tier run, so we schedule the day rather than treating it as a drop in call.

### Can you set a modular section here?

Yes, within the 40 ton truck's capacity and depending on the approach. Send section weights and a photo looking in from the road and we will confirm before booking.

### Is the ground good enough for outriggers on a raw lot?

Usually, with pads. Blow sand is the common surface out here and it needs a wider footprint than hard caliche. Tell us what the lot looks like and we bring the right pads.

### Do I need to worry about power lines?

Less than in older parts of the county. Most newer subdivisions here are underground. We still confirm the setup position on site before the boom comes up.

### Can you come before the block wall goes in on a new build?

That is the ideal. An open lot turns an over the wall lift into a simple set. If you are building, call us during framing rather than after the walls close in.
