# Mobile Crane Service in Mohave Valley

> Mohave Valley sits 45 road miles north of our yard on the flat river bottom above the Colorado. It is a mix of irrigated farm ground, manufactured housing and rural lots. Work here runs from irrigation pumps and implements to HVAC changeouts and home section setting, and the owner runs every lift.

**TLDR:** Mohave Valley is 45 road miles north. Flat river bottom, farm ground and homes mixed together. Tier 2 dispatch, so we book the day and hold it.

## Farm Ground and Field Access

A good share of Mohave Valley is irrigated ground, and irrigated ground has infrastructure. Pumps, gearheads, turnouts, gates and pipe. All of it wears out and most of it is too heavy or too awkward to handle without a crane.

The catch is getting to it. Farm roads are built for tractors and pickups, not for a loaded boom truck, and a canal bank that carries a quad will not carry us. Before we commit we want to know which turnoff to use and whether there is a crossing rated for weight. If the answer is no, we set up on the nearest hard ground and work at radius.

Field lifts are usually urgent because water is on a schedule. Pull the pump, let your pump crew work on it, set it back. We plan the day so the crane is there when they are ready.

## Homes, Units and Sections

Housing here is largely manufactured and modular, scattered on rural lots rather than gathered in subdivisions. That means section setting on new placements and a steady run of maintenance work on units that have been in place a long time: roof equipment swaps, carport steel, awning frames, and roofing material loaded onto units being reroofed.

Because the lots are large and the ground is flat, setups are usually straightforward. The thing to check is the yard surface. Farmed and graded ground can be deep and loose in the top foot even when it looks solid, so outrigger pads go bigger here than they would on a paved street.

- Irrigation pumps, gearheads and column pipe
- Implements, hoppers and shop equipment
- Manufactured and modular section setting
- Roof mounted and package HVAC changeouts
- Carport, awning and patio steel
- Truck unloading and implement setting at farm yards

## Scheduling a 45 Mile Run

Forty five road miles is squarely in the second dispatch tier. The drive is not the problem, the day is. If the truck is already committed in Havasu that morning, a Mohave Valley job becomes an afternoon job or a tomorrow job, and we would rather say that plainly than leave you waiting.

The way to make it easy is notice. A day or two lets us build the run properly, and if there is other work in the valley or up in Fort Mohave the same week we can put them together and everyone gets a better slot.

## Our Process

1. **Tell us which access to use.** On farm ground the turnoff matters more than the address. Name the road, the gate and whether any crossing has a weight limit.
2. **Confirm the load and the landing.** Weight, length and where it ends up. For pumps we want the column length, because that changes the setup position more than the weight does.
3. **Book the window.** Second tier distance means a scheduled window rather than a same hour promise. Urgent water and equipment failures get worked in when the schedule allows.
4. **Pull, service, set back.** The crane pulls it, your crew services it, the crane sets it back. At this distance it pays to plan the day so both halves fit in one visit.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Will your truck make it out to a field?

Depends on the road and the crossings. Tell us the route in and we will tell you honestly. If we cannot get close, we set up on hard ground and reach, which usually still works.

### Can you pull and reset an irrigation pump?

Yes, working alongside your pump company. Column length drives the setup position, so give us that number when you call.

### How far is Mohave Valley from your yard?

45 road miles north. That is second tier dispatch, so we book a window. It is comfortable to reach but not something we can drop everything for.

### Do you set manufactured home sections here?

Yes, within capacity and given workable access. Section weight and a photo of the approach answer whether it is a 22 ton or a 40 ton job.

### Is the ground firm enough for outriggers?

Usually with pads. Farmed and graded soil is loose in the top foot even when the surface looks hard, so we plan for a wider footprint out here.
