Mobile Crane Service in Bullhead City
2 min readUpdated July 2026
Bullhead City is 63 road miles north of our Lake Havasu City yard by way of AZ-95 and the river route. At that distance we schedule rather than promise same day, and we try to group Bullhead City jobs together in one trip. Common work is HVAC changeouts, manufactured home sections, carports and structural steel.
What 63 Miles Means for Scheduling
Bullhead City sits at the far end of our third dispatch tier. Sixty three road miles is a real trip for a boom truck, and it is not a distance we can slot in between two Havasu jobs on the same morning. What works here is booking a day, and what works even better is booking two or three jobs in the same part of town for the same day.
If you are an HVAC company, a property manager or a builder working Bullhead City regularly, tell us what you have coming. We would rather come up once with a full day than three times with a half day.
Manufactured and Modular Housing
Bullhead City has a lot of manufactured, modular and park model housing, and that shapes the work. Sections come in and have to be set. Older units need a roof mounted unit swapped. Carports, awnings and patio covers need their steel lifted into place. Roofing and solar crews on these units want material staged on the roof rather than carried up a ladder.
Park model and RV space work is its own problem. The spaces are narrow, the neighbors are close, and the truck usually cannot get in beside the unit. That means setting up on the lane and reaching over a roof line, which is where a boom truck earns its keep compared to trying to skid something in.
- Roof mounted and package HVAC changeouts
- Manufactured and modular section setting
- Carport, awning and patio cover structures
- Roofing material and solar panel load ups
- Sheds, containers and equipment placed in tight spaces
The River Bench and the Bluffs
The city runs long and narrow along a bench above the Colorado. Streets on the west side drop toward the water and the lots step down with them. That gives you the same setup problem as a Havasu hillside, but with less room to back a truck around, because the cross streets are short and end at the bank.
Riverfront property is the tightest of it. Between the house, the neighbor and the bank there is often no place for a full outrigger spread on the water side. When that happens we plan a shorter, higher setup from the street and accept a longer radius rather than crowding the bank.
Summer Here Is Different
Bullhead City is one of the hottest places in the country in July and August. That is not a talking point, it is a scheduling constraint. Metal in the sun is not touchable by mid morning, and crews make mistakes when they are cooked. Summer jobs start at first light and finish before the worst of it.
It also drives the emergency side. When a residential unit fails at 115 degrees, the changeout is not a next week problem. We take those calls any hour, and if the schedule allows we will make the run the same day even though the distance says otherwise.
Distance and Dispatch
Bullhead City is 63 road miles from our yard at 850 London Bridge Rd in Lake Havasu City. That is measured by road, not straight line, because the road distance is what actually decides how a day gets scheduled. Outer dispatch band. Usually booked ahead, and it makes sense to group work in the area.
- 63 road miles puts it in the third dispatch tier. Booking ahead is the practical approach, and grouped jobs make the trip make sense.
- The city is long and narrow, stretched along the river bench with streets that fall away toward the water.
- Large share of manufactured, modular and park model housing, which means section setting, carport and cover lifts, and unit changeouts.
- Riverfront lots and RV park spaces are narrow, so the truck often sets up on the lane and reaches over the neighbor's roof line.
- Among the hottest places in the country in summer. July and August work starts at first light or it does not start.
How the job runs
Our Process
Step 1: Get on the calendar
At this distance a booked date beats a hopeful phone call. Tell us the week you need and the flexibility you have and we will fit the trip around it.
Step 2: Group what you can
If you have more than one unit, more than one address, or a neighbor who needs the same thing, say so. Multiple jobs in one trip is the whole reason a 63 mile run works.
Step 3: Confirm the setup spot
In parks, on narrow lanes and on riverfront lots the setup position is the job. We settle that with photos before the truck leaves the yard, not after it arrives.
Step 4: Work early, finish clean
Summer work starts at first light. Loads get set, pads come up and the lane is clear before the heat peaks.

Answers
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you actually come to Bullhead City from Lake Havasu City?
Yes. It is 63 road miles, which is our third dispatch tier. We book those days ahead rather than treating them as same day work, and we group jobs when we can.
Can you set a manufactured home section?
Yes, within the capacity of the 40 ton truck and depending on access to the site. Send the section weight and a photo of the approach and we will tell you straight away whether it works.
My RV space is too narrow for a truck. Is that a problem?
Usually not. We set up on the lane and work over the roof line. What matters is whether the lane holds the outriggers and what is strung overhead between the spaces.
Will you come out for an emergency HVAC failure in summer?
We will try. The phone is answered around the clock. Whether we can turn a 63 mile run the same day depends on where the truck already is that morning.
Can you load roofing or solar material onto a manufactured home?
Yes. Shingle bundles, underlayment, panels and racking go up on pallets and land where the crew wants them, spread out so the roof is not carrying it all in one spot.
