Mobile Crane Service in Golden Shores

2 min readUpdated July 2026

Golden Shores is 33 road miles north of our Lake Havasu City yard, near the Interstate 40 river crossing and the Havasu National Wildlife Refuge. It is a small river community of homes, park models and RV spaces on narrow lanes. Work here is HVAC changeouts, carports, docks, boats and equipment placement.

Small Community, Narrow Lanes

Golden Shores is a small river community and the street layout shows it. Lanes are narrow, shoulders are soft, and there are places where a boom truck can get in but cannot turn around without a plan. That makes the setup position the first decision, not the last.

In practice we work from the lane most of the time and reach over the property. Between the 22 ton for tight spots and 142 feet of reach on the bigger truck, distance is rarely the problem. Room for the outriggers is the problem, and it is one we solve with photos before we drive up.

What We Get Called For

The steady work is mechanical. Roof mounted and package units on homes and park models, especially in summer when a failure is not something anyone can wait out. Around that sits carport and awning steel, sheds, spas, generators and the occasional container.

Because the community backs onto the backwaters, there is water work too. Boats on and off trailers, dock sections, ramps and lift frames. Some properties have water on one side and a lane on the other, which means the crane has to bridge the whole lot from the road. That is exactly the case where reach beats capacity.

  • Roof mounted and package HVAC changeouts
  • Park model and manufactured home work
  • Carports, awnings and patio steel
  • Boats, dock sections and lift frames
  • Sheds, spas and backyard equipment
  • Roofing and solar material onto park models

Sand, Shoulders and the Refuge Edge

The pavement out here holds up fine. The shoulder next to it often does not. Blow sand and old river deposit sit right at the edge of the asphalt, and an outrigger that lands half on and half off is the classic way to end up leaning. We set fully on hard surface or fully on pads, never straddling the edge.

Properties along the refuge and the backwaters have their own considerations. Soft ground near water, limited approach and no second way in. If your lot is one of those, tell us which side the road comes in on and we will plan around it.

Distance and Dispatch

Golden Shores is 33 road miles from our yard at 850 London Bridge Rd in Lake Havasu City. That is measured by road, not straight line, because the road distance is what actually decides how a day gets scheduled. Inside our closest dispatch band. Same day is usually workable when the schedule allows.

  • 33 road miles keeps it inside first tier dispatch, so same day is realistic when the schedule is open.
  • Streets are narrow residential lanes with limited turnaround. Where the truck stops is decided before it leaves the yard.
  • The community sits against the backwaters and the wildlife refuge, so some properties back onto water with no road access on that side.
  • Heavy on park models, manufactured homes and RV spaces, which means small lots and close neighbors.
  • Sandy shoulders. The pavement is fine, the edge of it often is not.

How the job runs

Our Process

  1. Step 1: Send two photos

One looking at the property from the lane, one showing where the load has to land. That combination decides truck, setup point and pad size.

  2. Step 2: We plan the turnaround

Narrow lanes mean we work out how the truck gets in and back out before it leaves the yard. Nobody wants a boom truck reversing a quarter mile past parked cars.

  3. Step 3: Set the time

At 33 miles this is first tier dispatch and same day is realistic when the board is open. Summer jobs go early because the river bottom heats up hard.

  4. Step 4: Lift, land and release

Unit or load gets set and released. If there is a second item on the lot, it goes on the same visit while we are there.

Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Golden Shores close enough for same day service?

Usually. At 33 road miles it is inside our first dispatch tier. Whether we make it today depends on the rest of the schedule, not on the distance.

My lane is narrow. Can the truck even get in?

Often yes, and where it cannot we work from a wider point and reach. Send a photo looking down the lane and we will settle it before the truck rolls.

Can you lift a boat at a backwater property?

Yes, if there is a setup position that holds outriggers and a clear line to the water. Soft ground near the backwaters is the usual limit, not reach.

Do you work on park models and RV spaces?

Regularly. Roof units, carports, awnings and steps are common. The space is tight so the truck normally sits on the lane and works over the top.

How is Golden Shores different from Topock?

They sit next to each other at the river crossing. Golden Shores has most of the housing, Topock has the crossing, the marina and the refuge frontage. We cover both on the same run.

Ready to schedule your lift?

Tell us the load, the site and the timing. We will confirm capacity, access and a window.
