Crane Service for Commercial Property Owners

HCW Crane Service works on commercial property around Lake Havasu City, setting and resetting signage, light poles, canopies, roof equipment and storage containers. Work is scheduled around trading hours so tenants and customers keep their access, and the owner runs every lift.

Signs, Poles and the Things Wind Takes Down

Monsoon season rearranges commercial property. A sign face lifts, a pole light leans, a canopy panel peels back, a roof screen loses a section. None of it is catastrophic and all of it is visible from the road, which is why it moves to the top of somebody's list fast.

Most of these jobs are the same shape. Something above head height needs to come down, and later go back up once your sign or electrical contractor has fixed it. Planning both picks on the first call is the difference between two visits and four.

Sign and pole work also has a wind window of its own. A tall flat sign is harder to control in a breeze than a compressed unit twice its weight, so those jobs get the calm part of the day.

Storage Yards, Containers and Boats

Lake Havasu runs on storage. Boat storage, RV storage, self storage and contractor yards are everywhere, and every one of them eventually needs a shipping container placed, a unit moved to the back row, or a boat lifted where no trailer can reach.

The limit in those yards is almost never weight. It is the width of the drive aisle and whether the outriggers can spread without hitting the units on either side. A photo taken down the row tells us whether the truck fits.

Containers get picked from their corner castings and set on blocks or dunnage so the doors still open square. Boats go up in slings at their balance point. Both get done where possible outside the yard's busiest hours.

Keeping the Property Open While Work Happens

A crane on a working commercial site is a temporary closure of part of it. Outriggers, swing radius and the ground under the load all become off limits, and that footprint is larger than most people expect from looking at the truck.

So the plan starts with which parts of the property have to stay usable. Front door, drive-through, loading dock, fire lane. Those get protected, and the setup gets built around them rather than the other way around.

Early morning and overnight are the easy answers on most retail and hospitality property. Being open 24 hours means those slots are genuinely available rather than a favour.

How the job runs

Our Process

  1. Step 1: Tell Us What Has to Stay Open

Doors, lanes and hours. The setup gets designed around your access, not the shortest route to the work.

  2. Step 2: Plan Both Picks

If something comes down for repair, the pick to put it back gets planned at the same time, so your contractor knows when the crane returns.

  3. Step 3: Cone the Zone and Work the Slot

Exclusion zone marked, spotter posted where the public can wander in, and the work done inside the window agreed.

  4. Step 4: Reopen the Property

Cones and pads picked up, surfaces checked, and the area handed back the way it was found.

Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you work while we are trading?

Sometimes, if the setup can be kept clear of customer access. Often the better answer is an early or overnight slot, which costs you nothing in disruption and is available because we run 24 hours.

Can you move a shipping container within our yard?

Usually. The question is how far the truck has to stand from the final spot and whether the aisle takes full outrigger spread. Send the distance and a photo down the row and we will confirm what works.

How much space does the truck need in a parking lot?

Enough for the outriggers to spread fully plus a clear area under the load. We mark it on the walk so you can move vehicles and tell tenants before the day rather than during it.

Who runs the lift on the day?

The owner. The person who walks your property and quotes the job is the person on the controls, which is why sign, pole and container work usually finishes in the call-out that was planned.
