Spa and Residential Lift Examples
1 min readUpdated July 2026

Most Lake Havasu homes have a block wall around the yard and no gate wide enough for a spa. That makes a crane the practical option. The lift itself is short. The care goes into rigging a shell that flexes and protecting everything the load passes over.
Why the shell changes the rigging
A spa is not a rigid box. The weight is in the shell and the cabinet is largely trim, so slings placed at the cabinet can crush it. Slings go under the shell at points that carry load, and the spread is set so the tub sits level and does not rack.
Empty weight is manageable for either crane. The complication is almost never the weight. It is the distance from where the truck can park to where the pad is, and what sits in between.
What is between the truck and the pad
Usually a roof, a patio cover, a wall, and a power drop to the house. The load path has to clear all of it with margin, and the boom has to swing without touching anything.
We look at the service drop specifically. Older Havasu streets have overhead lines to the house, and a lift that clears the roof might not clear the wire. That is a planning question, not a day-of question.
Protecting the property
Outrigger pads go on mats when the truck is on a driveway or a paver surface. Concentrated load on a decorative surface is how driveways crack, and a mat costs nothing.
We also keep people out from under the load. That sounds obvious and it is still the thing that needs saying out loud on a residential job, where the homeowner, a neighbor and sometimes a dog all want to watch from exactly the wrong place.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you lift a spa over my house?
Often yes, if the reach covers it and the load path is clear. Send a photo from the street and a rough distance to the pad and we will tell you whether it works.
Does the spa need to be empty?
Yes. A filled spa is many times its empty weight and is not liftable. It should be drained and, in cold weather, blown out.
Will the crane damage my driveway?
Not if it is set up properly. We put mats under the outrigger pads to spread the load. Tell us if the driveway is pavers or decorative concrete so we plan for it.
More Project Types
- Spa and Residential Specialty LiftsSpas, hot tubs, and awkward residential loads flown over block walls into finished backyards.
- Spa PlacementA spa carries its weight in the shell, not the cabinet. Sling placement, a cured level pad, and equipment bay orientation are what make the set work.
- Over-Structure PlacementFlying a load over a house, a garage, or a block wall. Ridge clearance, a blind descent on the far side, and a spotter running the last stage.
- HVAC and Mechanical LiftsHow we set rooftop package units, air handlers and condensers in Lake Havasu City, including a documented commercial unit swap.
- Truss and Structural WorkHow we sequence roof truss sets, beams and structural members with framing crews in Lake Havasu City and Mohave County.
- Industrial and Equipment PlacementHow we set generators, machinery, tanks and commercial equipment in Lake Havasu City and across Mohave County.
- Rigging and Construction Lift JobsHow we rig and set containers, machinery, roofing loads, solar racking, signs, poles, boats and boulders in Lake Havasu City and Mohave County.
- Tight Access ProjectsHow we work narrow lots, side yards and restricted setups in Lake Havasu City where a standard setup will not fit.
- Over Structure ProjectsHow we lift loads over houses, walls and patio covers in Lake Havasu City, and what has to be checked first.
Ready to schedule your lift?
Tell us the load, the site and the timing. We will confirm capacity, access and a window.
