Site Prep Checklist

Six categories, every item a real cause of delay on a real job. Tick as you go and print it for whoever is on site.

This checklist covers the six things that decide whether a lift runs smoothly: access, ground conditions, overhead hazards, the load itself, the people on site and coordination with other trades. Work through it before the crane arrives and most delays disappear before they happen.

Progress

0 of 37

Nothing ticked yet. Work down the list and tick what applies.

Ticks stay only while this page is open. Nothing is saved and nothing is sent anywhere.

Access

Where the truck goes and what it has to get past to be there.

0/6

Ground

What is under the outrigger pads matters more than the rest of the site.

0/6

Overhead

The most commonly missed category, and the one with the least margin for error.

0/5

The Load

What is being lifted, and how it can be picked up safely.

0/7

People

Who is on site, who is in charge, and who is nowhere near the load.

0/6

Coordination

The sequencing that decides whether the day flows or stalls.

0/7

Anything on this list you cannot answer is worth a phone call rather than a guess. Unknowns are easy to plan around when they are stated. They are expensive when they are discovered with the crane already parked.

Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to complete every item?

No. Some will not apply to your job and that is fine. The value is in going through the list and noticing the two or three that do apply and had not occurred to you yet.

Does my progress get saved?

It stays while the page is open and clears when you leave. Nothing is sent anywhere and nothing is stored on our side. If you want a lasting copy, use the print button.

What is the single most missed item?

Overhead lines, followed closely by what is buried under the setup area. Both are invisible in a photo and both change the plan completely, which is why they get their own section here.

Can I hand this to my crew or my other trades?

Yes, that is what the print button is for. A printed copy taped up on site is worth more than a link nobody opens on the morning of the lift.

Ready to schedule your lift?

Tell us the load, the site and the timing. We will confirm capacity, access and a window.
