Crane Service in Sailing Hawks, Lake Havasu City

1 min readUpdated July 2026

Sailing Hawks sits near the lake at the north end of Lake Havasu City. Lots are narrow with block walls on both sides, and the little side yard that exists is usually already occupied by meters, condensers and equipment. Anything going into the backyard goes over the wall from the front.

The Side Yard Is Already Full

The lot pattern here rules out the obvious route into the backyard. Walls on both sides, narrow frontage, and what side yard exists is usually taken up by the electric meter, the condenser, the pool equipment and a gate that opens against all of it. There is no clean corridor to walk something through.

So the answer is over the wall from the front. That is straightforward work for a boom truck, and being three road miles from our yard makes Sailing Hawks one of the quickest calls we take. What it needs is the roof height, the distance to the landing point and the weight, so the setup position can be chosen properly the first time.

Short Frontage and Finished Surfaces

Street frontage is short on these lots. That matters because a boom truck plus outriggers occupies more width than one house front, so a setup often sits partly across a neighbour's drive. A word to them the day before turns that from a problem into a non event.

Driveways and entries here are finished surfaces, frequently pavers or decorative concrete. Pads go wide on those every time. Established landscaping along the frontage also affects where outriggers can go, so we would rather see it in a photo than negotiate around it with the truck already parked.

  • Spas and hot tubs lifted over the wall to rear patios
  • Rooftop and package HVAC changeouts
  • Pool and mechanical equipment replacement
  • Boats and heavy items into rear yards
  • Boulders and landscape rock over the wall

Local Access Notes

These are the things that actually decide how a lift runs in Sailing Hawks. We check them before quoting rather than discovering them on the day. Our yard is 3 road miles away on 850 London Bridge Rd.

  • Narrow lots walled on both sides. Side yard routes are not practical for anything of size.
  • The side yards that exist are usually filled with meters, condensers and mechanical equipment already.
  • Short street frontage limits where a truck can set up without blocking a neighbour's drive.
  • Close to the yard, three road miles, so this is one of our quickest calls in the city.
  • Established landscaping and finished driveways mean pads go wide to protect surfaces.

How the job runs

Our Process

  1. Step 1: Send the frontage photo

One picture from across the street shows the frontage width, the driveway surface, the roof line and the landscaping in one frame.

  2. Step 2: Give us three numbers

Roof height, distance from the street to the landing point, and the weight of the item. Those decide the truck and the setup spot.

  3. Step 3: Warn the neighbour

Short frontage means the setup may reach across the next drive. A heads up the day before saves an awkward conversation on the morning.

  4. Step 4: Over and down

The load clears the roof and lands inside the wall with a spotter watching it in. Pads come up and the frontage is clear.

Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Could a spa fit through my side gate instead?

Very unlikely here. The walls are close and the side yard is usually already full of meters and equipment. Over the wall is the practical route.

How quickly can you get here?

Sailing Hawks is about three road miles from our yard, so travel time is minimal. Availability is the only real question.

Will the outriggers reach across my neighbour's driveway?

Sometimes, because the frontages are short. It is brief, and letting the neighbour know in advance is all it usually takes.

Can you protect my paver driveway?

Yes. Pads go wide on pavers and decorative concrete so the load spreads instead of concentrating on four points.
